He will take great delight in you,
He will quiet you with his love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.
I thought that I would share with all of you the message that I sent to the choir this morning as they were gathering to prepare to lead worship for the 9:00am service. Much thanks to Sherry Barron for directing for us and Scarlet Roemer for playing.
When I walked downstairs this morning Ken was singing praise songs and sitting up in the chair listening to tunes on his computer. He has not been able to sit or stand up straight for several days because of the pain. As I sat down next to him these are the songs that came up - Who Can Satisfy, Give Me Jesus, and our Chapel Choir singing Adonai with Kristy Coast on the solo. These have all been songs that have ministered to our hearts through the years, especially in seasons of trial. How like our Lord - so faithful to meet our every need. As many of you know, Zephaniah 3:17 has long been my verse of hope - The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with his love, He will rejoice over you with singing. Surely the Lord was singing over us this morning through the choir as we listened to that recording. The anthem for this morning planned months ago was "On My Knees". Again, thank you for interceding on our behalf during these difficult days. As I finished texting Sherry to read to the choir Tania's prayer came on - a beautiful song by Stephanie Seefeldt. Through the years I have often made music cd's for friends in times of struggle and this prayer song has always brought so much comfort. Today we needed to be reminded of this truth in the song - "When you do not know the way God leads you will know your God." ......Isn't that the desire of all our hearts - to know Him more intimately in the depths of our souls. So often it is the seasons of trial that show us the depth of God's character and love. We worshipped in our hearts and spirits with the Chapel body this morning and all of you We are resting in His grace, trusting in His faithfulness, rejoicing that His love endures forever. Ken was so peaceful this morning that I was able to spend some time alone in the Psalms - on my knees. These are some of the verses that ministered especially to my heart. Perhaps they will to you as well----Psalms 1; 13:5; 16:5-11;18:16, 25-33; Psalm 23; 27:4-6,13-14;28;6-9;29:1-2. As you can see - I am making my way through the riches of the Father's hymnbook of worship in the Psalms. They have always been a rich source of comfort to my spirit. We are hoping to take Maggie's bridal portrait around 5:30 pm today if the rain stops. My sweet sister SuSu is going to stay with Ken. He is sleeping now. Catching up on much needed rest for his body to heal ---I'm so grateful. Mary Elizabeth has just called and she has had a full day in Oklahoma City. As many of you know she started her sophomore year at Oklahoma City University on Monday. Auditions for all the fall musicals were Tuesday night. I was amazed that she had the strength to sing at all, but she was even called back for a major role. Yesterday she sang for the fall opera auditions and was called back for a lead role as well which she sang today. God is give her strength to press through and learn new songs, scenes and arias for these call backs in the midst of such emotional stress. I am so very proud of her and for her. Unfortunately she would not be able to perform in either of the productions she was called back for because they conflict with Maggie and Spencer's wedding date. How kind of the faculty to give her the opportunity and encouragement anyway. She told me today that she hasn't told them what is going on with her dad. Please pray for her as she faces these mountains so far away. She has some very strong Christian friends who are lifting her up in prayer. Please pray for Sherry - she called and is at the hospital with her sister - who is in extreme abdominal pain and waiting on a CT scan. You have blessed us beyond measure through your love and prayers. I hear Ken stirring so I will go check on him. Be blessed by His Word and Ministering songs of worship. You are deeply loved, Kathy

I have a passage from Jeremiah to share with you: Jeremiah 29:11-14. It was shared with me many years ago by a chapel friend when I was in a personal crisis, and I just felt that I wanted to pass it on to you. Like many others, the Behrens's love you and Kathy and the girls. And we pray for your restored health!
