It's my understanding that the Drakes had a much better night, however Ken is still in some pain with the abdomen issue. He has spent the day resting. Kathy and Maggie were able to take a little break and spend time with friends at Meghan's baby shower...I also went and the distraction and visit with friends was well timed for the Drake ladies. I know they are still very tired. Originally, Maggie was to have bridal pictures taken today, too! That was cancelled due to expectant rain! I think they will try tomorrow. Remember that on top of all of this with Ken, Maggie's wedding is just weeks away. Please pray for good weather tomorrow so that pics can be taken. Pray for more rest. Pray for Ken's pain to cease. Pray once again a prayer of thanksgiving for all that God is doing. I have heard many stories from people about how God is using this time in the Drakes lives to drawn them closer to God and re-evaluate. It is also uniting our church body. People see and hear of the faith Ken, Kathy, and the girls have and it encourages them in the Lord! Also continue to pray for complete healing in Jesus' name for Ken. They meet with the doctor Monday afternoon. I'm praying for a "shoutin' party!"
For those of you who are reading this, close your eyes, gently breathe in and out, rest your weary mind and heart. God is the blessed controller of all things. He is holding this special family in the palm of His hand. Psalm 91: 1-6, 9-12, 14-16 He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, he is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust; his truth shall be my shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flies by day; nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness; nor for the plague that destroys at noonday. 9 If you say, "The Lord is my refuge," and you make the Most High you dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. 14 "Because he loves me," says the Lord, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation." I encourage you to also rest in the One who loves you too. These promises are not just for Ken, they are also promises to you from our Lord. Cling to them. love, Sherry

As I was praying for you, the words to the blessing sung for you at the 25th Anniversary celebration came to mind. May God bless you both in special and unusual ways through all of this.
