"I will extol the Lord at all times;
his praise will always be on my lips,
My soul will boast in the Lord;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice,
Glorify the Lord with me;
let us exalt his name together"
his praise will always be on my lips,
My soul will boast in the Lord;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice,
Glorify the Lord with me;
let us exalt his name together"
Psalm 34:1-3
We give glory to God tonight. The doctor called with more good news. Ken's blood tests show a lower bilirubin level than a week ago and all other tests have come back negative so far. His pain is much less and his color is better from the jaundice. Ken is scheduled now for a liver biopsy on Thursday. We are so grateful for your prayers for healing for Ken and give God all the glory for what He is doing in our lives through his illness. Jesus has the power to heal and we call on His name and trust in His faithfulness. He is the Master Physician.
Thank you so much for all the love, responses on the blog, emails, texts, cards of encouragement and physical support!!!!
Today a group of friends came from the Chapel to clean up and clear our property from the storm. They were like a little army raking, sweeping and blowing before the next rain came. Some still had no electricity in their own homes, but chose to bless us. I don't know if I would have had the strength right now to do it, but they knew our need and reached out in love. We have learned many faith lessons in this journey so far. One is the beauty of the body of Christ. Oh how we need each other. We opened a card today from our dear friend Hoppy and she referenced the Scripture above. How like the Lord since this was my Psalm for today.
Surely He has heard our voice and we exalt and glorify His name together!
Another card we received today from a dear friend Rene included a beautiful quote from A.B Simpson that ministered powerfully to us. "Let us but feel that He has His heart set upon us, that He is watching us from those heavens with tender interest, that He is following us day by day as a mother follows her babe in his first attempt to walk alone, that He has set His love upon us, and in spite of ourselves is working out for us His highest will and blessing, as far as we will let Him - and then nothing can discourage us."
Surely the Lord has set His love upon us in these days.
Ken's brother Bob recently sent us a link to a beautiful song. It's called Blessings by Laura Story.
"Blessings"
We pray for blessings
We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things
'Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise.........
Surely we are experiencing the Lord's blessings in this journey,
Please continue to pray for complete healing and glorify the Lord with me,
You are deeply loved,
Kathy
