Dear Family, Friends, Chapel Choir, Staff, Elders, and Body!

Once again thank you for your prayer coverage for the biopsy yesterday. I felt your prayers so strongly as I was rolled into procedure room and the radiologists explained in detail the procedure and some of the side or after effects of the procedure. For moments there anxiety set in and then blessed Dr. Walker came in. Dr. Walker encouraged me as he told me that he had been following my case and story on the blog, praying, studying, researching my case. It brought assurance once again that the Lord was so near and that He truly was holding me in the palm of His Almighty, Healing hands - another blessed moment in this journey!  AND God was gracious, I had none of the side or after effects they described. I am fine this morning, maybe like someone has punched me in the ribs on that right side but all is good.  I have been told to rest and take it very easy, very careful over these 48 hours after the biopsy. We hope to have the results from Dr. McDonald on Monday and then we hope to get the MRI of the pancreas scheduled sometime next week.

So thank you for your prayers, God so knows our need even when we do not! Again I am forever grateful for your faithful, tireless, earnest prayers for me and my family.  God woke me very early this morning, having some unpleasant dreams and anxious thoughts so I immediately got out of bed and opened the Word: "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work." 2 Tim. 3:16-17. And Ruth Myers praise: "Thank you that in Your Word I can see your face and hear Your voice. I can discover Your will and Your patterns for living and serving. I can develop deeper faith and confidence. Thank you that the Holy Spirit inspired Your Word and uses it to enlighten and guide me, and to change me more and more into Your image, from one degree of glory to another."  And then I was blessed all over again as I began to read through all the blog responses you have sent. Sherry had copied all the initial days into a notebook and Kathy continues to add to.  I am so grateful for this and reconnection with so many of you from those fabulous growing up days in WS, the Drake and Dunn family, the crazy Furman gang - those were the days!, the LSU music school crew - I seem to attract the craziest! duh!, the pastors and congregations at First Pres. and Christ Covenant and all the Chapel network through these many years! Thank you for these prayers, scriptures, songs, encouraging, loving thoughts that will bless me all the rest of my days as I reflect back on this journey and God's loving, gracious hand on me through YOU!  I am forever blessed, forever changed!  How can I ever express my love and gratitude!

I love you all!
Ken

Ken and Kathy,

You might not remember me because I am several years older than you, Ken. Jim was nearer my age and was just a year or two younger I believe. I do remember all of you Drake boys very well, and your aunts Cece and Genie were very dear friends of my mother, Macie Lollis. Bob is in our choir every Sunday, and I run into him often at the Post Office and Piggly Wiggly. Ceil and Genie are longtime family friends. I visit Cecil often at Sterling House in Greenwood, and I am always blessed by her sweet spirit. Often we sing hymns, quote Scripture, and pray together. I believe that she turned 98 this week . I just wanted to let you know that the two of you remain in my prayers and the prayers of MANY, MANY in Ware Shoals. I just read the blog about the biopsy, and thanks to our Lord and Savior that the procedure went well with no ill effects. I will contiue to follow your progress through your blog, and you can be assured of my continued prayers for peace, rest, and healing. You are both a real blessing and inspiration to so many through your strong faith and reliance on the Lord during these difficult days. May God continue to bless you, your girls, your friends, your church, your ministry, and your wonderful doctors who are being guided by His hand.

Love and prayers,

Linda Simpson

Ken and Kathy

I have been praying and praising on your behalf as you walk this journey. I am claiming blessings for you as promised in

Psalm 89:15-17

15 Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you,
who walk in the light of your presence, O Lord.
16 They rejoice in your name all day long;
they exult in your righteousness.
17 For you are their glory and strength

Blessings,

Bronwen Rispone

Dear Ken and Kathy,

The Lord brings you to my mind several times a day, reminding me to pray for you. The Holy Spirit is leading me as to what to pray for you two and the girls. Right now, I am praying for rest and peace, and joy. Will be praying for you this week.
God Is in control, and His plans are wonderful!
I have had the refrain in my head for weeks now: "Rejoice in the Lord always, again, I say 'Rejoice!". I do rejoice that we have such a wonderful Shepherd who never takes HIs eyes off of us.
Love you!

Dear Jackie,
Bless you, bless you for your thoughts and prayers toward me and Kathy! I woke about the same time this morning feeling anxious and reliving, rethinking 3 weeks ago today and a spirit of sadness, fear, and despair had come over me once again. I assume just in waiting for the doctor's call tomorrow with results from the liver biopsy. I immediately got out of bed to read the word and hear David Jeremiah's sermon at 6 am. Kathy and I have truly been believing that God is healing my body by His miraculous power and the power of the prayers from you and all the dear folks who have been praying fervently for me. So I am once again grateful for you hearing the Spirit on my behalf this morning. The song was perfect in help driving away these negative thoughts coming from the pit of hell for sure. Thank you. I am so grateful for your prayers! Love you dearly, Ken

It was so good to see you and Kathy worshipping in church this morning! After reading your comments above, I do hope that you found strength and comfort on this beautiful (almost like fall) day. I am reminded of another song that speaks of our Father's incredible love. "Healing is in Your Hand". Praying fervantly for you guys. Love ya! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sG94EKGDcU&feature=related
